(Moved from Latest News section on home page)
We have welcomed our first non cockapoo into our dog pack. Trixie is Jim's much awaited komondor puppy (she is 3 days older than our Toby) and arrived with us in early December, all the way from Hungary. She has settled in quickly, and it is rather nice having a big dog around the house, and Jim is in his element! Thankfully, she doesn't set off my allergies either! Komondors are bred to be Livestock Guardians, as they have a strong instinct to protect and guard other animals and people. We hope she will grow up to help guard our home and outdoor animals, and of course, all our precious dogs and puppies.

Komondors are known to be stubborn, and are a giant dog breed. Trix is an XL for her breed and already weighs 33kg at 6 months old. It is most entertaining to watch Jim trying to get her in the car, or in from the garden! The cockapoos have taken to her better than I thought they would. They don't seem to care that she is bigger than them, and most evenings they chase each other round and wrestle! Trixie in turn seems to love her little friends, and I love watching them all interact with each other.

This all bodes well for our next (and last!!) arrival - another komondor, also coming from Hungary, who we have named Buddy. Buddy is a completely new bloodline to the UK and Jim is hoping to have a litter of komondor puppies in 2017. They are a rare breed here in the UK, so he will need to find the right buyers and this will take time, hence the early planning. Of course it all depends on the dogs themselves, so he will re evaluate later in the year, once we have got to know the dogs better. We like to plan ahead and it is all very exciting, however the cockapoos are still my first priority, and greatest love. Of course I will assist Jim in future if needed, we do make a great team and he has been a great support to me, so I owe him! You can read more on our new Lynton Komondors website, which will be coming
